Paris//Bofinger - more of the best

here we go:
oysters with vinegar and some kind of dense bread.
to the right, flaky toast to accompany my foie gras and jelly.
and of course, wine to wash it all down.
simple presentation, but the food speaks for itself.

can't have steak tartare without some fries.
golden, crispy, meaty, delicious.

more decor

I've gotta say, I would recommend Bofinger as a must-eat, must-experience item on anyone's Paris itinerary.
We got lucky with great seats in the house, as I've read that they normally seat 'tourists' upstairs, away from the gorgeous decor (unfortunately). But if felt like our birthdays when we were there. Kind and generous wait staff who served us without tourist discrimination (even though we did get english menus), and we sat next to a really cool couple who definitely seemed like they'd lived life to the fullest. They spoke French during our dinner but when we turned to them they suddenly spoke English (quite fluently, they were from Amsterdam). We all chatted about art and sculpture and what we were up to in our 'real' lives.

A really lovely meal and experience.
